ETAGE - BORGERGADE 15 E  DK - 1300 COPENHAGEN

OPENING HOURS TUESDAY TO SATURDAY 11AM TO 5PM

ETAGE is a gallery situated in the centre of Copenhagen’s art district. ETAGE provides a unique platform for artists to explore ideas through: exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and publications. We are committed to working with interdisciplinary architects and designers who actively question received models of practice and exhibition. Through this, ETAGE intends to enrich and broaden the definitions of art, architecture and design.

ETAGE provides the opportunity for architects and designers to develop and disseminate new work, not only in the exhibition space itself but also through other of our channels of communication. At the heart of our programme is our mission to commission new work - supporting emerging architects and designers, from project inception to realisation.

ETAGE is interested in working with architects and designers who operate outside of the normal market condition. Specifically we support, advocate, and publicise experimental and alternative projects, which can only be produced independent of market demands.

For audiences, ETAGE provides an opportunity to experience, and engage with, challenging contemporary art, architecture and design – not exhibited elsewhere in Copenhagen. Furthermore, the exhibited projects are accompanied by publications, discussions, seminars, workshops, etc. which provides audience access to current discussions within art, architecture and design. Furthermore, these parallel activities allow ETAGE to engage with wider issues and discourses relevant to the exhibition programme. As such, ETAGE operates interchangeably as an exhibition space, research centre, and innovation resource.

ETAGE produces a challenging set of exhibitions based on a strong curatorial vision.
